Week 4
Domestic Water Supply & Plumbing Installation in High Rise Building
In week 3, we have learnt about water supply & plumbing installation in low rise building. For this week, we learnt for high rise building. There are 2 type for operational system in high rise building:
- Boosted system 1
- Boosted system 2
Pressure booster system is used in high rise building. There are consist of pump, control panel and a series of pipe.
There are 5 system configurations for pressure booster system:
- Single booster system
- Zone-divided system
- Roof tanks/overhead tanks with terrace booster system
- Series-connected systems with intermediate break tanks
- Series-connected systems without intermediate break tanks
VALVES AND FITTING
VALVES
A valve is a mechanism that opens
and closes to control the flow of fluids. In a scientific context, fluids
include both liquids and gases – any substance that can flow freely – and
valves may use either. Valves control fluid flow in motors, plumbing,
irrigation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Sometimes the venerable
pre-transistor vacuum tube is referred to as a valve as well.
There are many types of valve :

FITTING
Pipe fittings are parts that connect
pipe sections together or to other components in in-line, offset, multi-port,
or mounting configurations.
