Hello everyone! We are Quantity Surveying's students from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. This is our group assignment for this semester for Building Services I subject. As for the first post, we will introduce our group members 😉

Let us brief some information about building service. Building services are the system that installed in building to make people in it comfortable, functional, efficient and safe. building services contribute largely to the sustainability and functioning of the building. Everything inside a building which makes it safe and comfortable comes under the title of Building Services. 

Therefore, we choose Dewan Sultan Iskandar for our case building.



Dewan Sultan Iskandar

Dewan Sultan Iskandar is the main hall in UTM where ceremonies and main events are held. Besides, the hall has become the pride of all UTM graduates because every convocation has been held at there. This hall is named after His Majesty, the late Sultan Iskandar ibni Almarhum Sultan Ismail, the second UTM Chancellor and officiated by the third UTM Chancellor on December 3, 1989.

The hall was designed by the university’s architects with the unique concept of Malay architecture. This hall consists two floors which the ground floor is the main space, divided into three parts; terrace, terrain and the stage. While the next level has a gallery and a special space known as the Royal Annexe for special guests. Therefore, the hall can accommodate almost 3,456 guests in a time.
